The elements are Wood (木), Fire (火), Earth (土), Metal (金), and Water (水). Each element is associated with specific attributes and qualities that can provide insights into a person's personality, emotions, and health.

This teaching originates from Taoist philosophy, which viewed the world as a dynamic equilibrium of forces. The Five Elements were essential to this balance, regarded as forces that interacted and supported each other.

The Five Elements in Medicine

In medicine, the Five Elements theory was used to diagnose and treat illnesses and health issues. Taoists believed that each element possesses a specific energy that flows within the body, and that blockages or disruptions in this energy could lead to health problems. By employing acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other treatment methods, they aimed to restore balance among the Five Elements and promote health.

The Five Elements are interconnected, forming a dynamic balance that mutually influences and supports each other. Each element has its own attributes and qualities that provide insights into a person's personality, emotions, and health.

The Five Elements in Face Reading

The Wood Element 木 (mù)

People who exhibit the Wood element in their face, according to Face Reading, are described as independent and courageous. They often have a long face, prominent eyebrows, and deep-set eyes. Individuals influenced by the Wood element are typically very ambitious and have a strong vision for their lives. They are also determined, goal-oriented, and enjoy taking on challenges.

The Fire Element 火 (huǒ)

People who exhibit the Fire element in their face, according to Face Reading, are described as passionate, impulsive, and energetic. They typically have a pointed chin and sharp features around the eyes, mouth, tongue, chin, and ears. Individuals influenced by the Fire element are often very emotional and passionate, and they have a strong presence. You can literally see the sparkle in their eyes.

The Earth Element 土 (tǔ)

People who exhibit the Earth element in their face, according to Face Reading, are described as warm, nurturing, and possessing benevolent energy. They often have a broad forehead, a fleshy chin, and full lips. Individuals influenced by the Earth element are typically very grounded and realistic, with a strong sense of responsibility. The Water Element 水 (shuǐ)

People who exhibit the Water element in their face, according to Face Reading, are described as calm and serene, yet potentially wild and destructive. They often have a high forehead, narrow eyebrows, and a straight nose. Individuals influenced by the Water element are often sensitive and intuitive, with a strong sense of adaptability and flexibility. They enjoy delving deep into things to uncover their true nature.

Constructive Cycle of the Elements

In Face Reading, it's important to observe how the five elements interact with each other in a person's face.

The five elements in a person's face can compete with each other or support and influence each other in Face Reading.

For example, the Wood element can support the Fire element by providing it with the necessary energy to burn. However, if the Fire element becomes too strong, it can burn and destroy the Wood element.

The Earth element can support the Metal element by providing it with stability and grounding. However, if the Metal element becomes too sharp, it can potentially cut and disrupt the Earth element.

In Face Reading, I observe the balance of the five elements in a person's face to understand how these elements interact with each other. This helps reveal how the person's personality functions and how communication can be optimized.

Destructive Cycle of the Elements

In Face Reading, the five elements also provide insights into a person's health status. The elements serve as crucial indicators of a person's strengths and weaknesses, highlighting potential health issues as well.

Below are a few examples:

  • An excess of the Wood element in the face may indicate that a person is susceptible to headaches, fatigue, or even depression. Conversely, a deficiency of the Wood element may suggest that a person is prone to colds or other infections.

  • An excess of the Fire element may indicate that a person is susceptible to heart problems, high blood pressure, or even anxiety. A deficiency of the Fire element may suggest a susceptibility to fatigue, lack of drive, or even depression.

  • A deficiency of the Earth element may suggest that a person is susceptible to digestive issues or even fatigue. An excess of the Earth element could indicate that the person is susceptible to overweight or even diabetes.

  • An excess of the Metal element may indicate respiratory problems or skin issues. A deficiency of the Metal element, on the other hand, could suggest that a person is susceptible to allergies or chronic pain.

  • A deficiency of the Water element suggests kidney problems or thyroid disorders. An excess of the Water element suggests susceptibility to water retention or even gout.

Conclusion

It's important to note that the 5 elements in a person's face in Face Reading serve only as indications and do not constitute a definitive diagnosis. If you are concerned that you may be susceptible to a specific health issue, you should always consult a qualified doctor.
